Visiting the region’s major attractions (as well as many little-known ones) we offer a range of achievable walks, comfortable accommodation and superb meals. There is also plenty of time-out to just sit and relax or do your own thing. |
The area’s principal town, Port Lincoln (population 17,000), is the hub of the world famous local fishing industry as well as the retail and commercial centre of the district. |

| This walking and sightseeing adventure holiday is fully guided and catered and returns each evening to the true Aussie laid-back charm of great country accommodation. |
Day 1: Fly from Adelaide to Port Lincoln via Regional Express Airlines, where you will be greeted by your guide. A short, scenic drive brings us to our accommodation. After settling in, we will do a short, informative tour of the town, including a visit to the scenic Winter Hill lookout, where the full extent of Port Lincoln’s beautiful, sheltered harbour unfolds before you in a stunning vista.
After a beautiful welcome lunch, we embark on a short walk along the Parnkalla Trail which follows the coastline through the town’s many foreshore reserves. Wildflowers and birdlife abound along this easy walk.
A delicious dinner follows featuring local seafood and award winning local wines.
After dinner you can stroll along the town’s foreshore or esplanade, or just relax at your accommodation. |
Day 2: Today we visit one of the area’s most stunning and rugged coastlines at the privately owned flora and fauna reserve of Whaler’s Way. On the way learn about the great explorer and navigator Matthew Flinders who first sailed along this coast in 1802, and visit the magnificent white beach of Fishery Bay, where the historic remains of a whaling station from the 1830’s can be seen.
We then enter Whalers Way for a 12km. walk along the clifftops of this superlative coast. High cliffs being relentlessly pounded by the huge southern ocean swells, spectacular blowholes with sea spray shooting tens of metres into the air, caves, beaches and plenty more are there for you to explore and enjoy. Wildlife and a huge variety of wildflowers in season are also a feature.
A packed gourmet lunch is included.
Walking is off-track, however it is relatively flat and open, making it suitable for all ages.
At the end of the walk, we return to Port Lincoln via the historic and beautiful Mikkira Station, where koalas can be seen at close quarters, resting in their natural habitat among the stately old Manna Gum trees.
Indulge in a delicious gourmet dinner under the stars, featuring local produce and local boutique wines. |
Day 3: Today you may indulge in a well-deserved sleep in, or relaxing morning discovering the many delights of Port Lincoln.
Do your own thing! – You may like to just sit and relax, explore the shops or take in a walk – up to you!

Art Gallery displaying local artists and specialist exhibitions.
Join us at 1pm for an extreme ½ day 4wd adventure where we will travel through the Lincoln National Park amongst massive imposing sand dunes. There is plentiful wildlife to be seen on this tour and a chance to learn about and sample Australian bush foods. |
Day 4: We spend today in the quaint seaside village of Coffin Bay, only a 30 minute drive from Port Lincoln. This delightful small town is nestled in the incredibly sheltered natural bay discovered by Matthew Flinders and now home to a world-renowned oyster industry. Here you will enjoy a half day boat cruise on the tranquil waters of Coffin Bay, where you will learn about the oyster fishery, and get a chance to sample oysters fresh from the sea.
After a tasty barbeque lunch, we begin a half day walk through the surrounding Coffin Bay National Park, home to a variety of birds and wildlife.
Tonight we dine at the acclaimed Oyster Beds Restaurant specializing in local seafood, then return to our Port Lincoln accommodation. |
Day 5: Today is a day to discover the delights of the 30,000ha Lincoln National Park. We walk one of the most scenic sections of the 70km long Investigator Trail, known for it’s diverse range of coastline and wildlife habitat. The walk follows a formed trail or beaches for it’s length, and can be varied depending on your wishes.
A mouth watering packed lunch is provided. We return to our accommodation in Port Lincoln, where there will be some time to do your own thing and find your way around town. |
Day 6: Leaving our Port Lincoln accommodation, we drive north along the scenic eastern shore of Spencer Gulf, past the delightful small town of Tumby Bay. A magnificent 15 km walk along this pristine coastline takes us along several rarely visited beaches, past rocky granite points and small sheltered bays and inlets.
We then visit the beautiful small seaside towns of Port Neill and Arno Bay, before travelling on to Cowell, renowned for it’s oysters and the world’s largest Jade deposit.
After a beautiful meal at a local country pub, we retire to our country accommodation for a well deserved rest. |
Day 7: Today is spent exploring the delights of the Cleve hills just behind Cowell. With a chance for several short but exhilarating walks, this is an area unknown to most tourists. We return to Cowell to dine in a gorgeous boutique café and visit the Jade Factory showrooms and a unique local bushfood orchid.
A hearty meal and your comfortable accommodation await. |
Day 8: On this final day, a visit to the Koppio Smithy Museum is the highlight of this trip into the rolling hills, eucalypt forests and farmlands of the Lincoln hills.
The Koppio museum, run by the National Trust, is South Australia’s largest museum of it’s type outside metropolitan Adelaide, and is packed full of interesting and informative objects from our early past.We then drive the short distance to the Tod River Reservoir, where we enjoy a gourmet lunch at the scenic picnic area. A small museum explains the interesting early history of this reservoir. After lunch we undertake a short walk through the area’s picturesque eucalypt scrub, where wildflowers and orchids can be seen in abundance.Finally we drive to the airport for the flight back to Adelaide. We know this is a tour that you will never forget.
